More specifically, what I meant to say is that the non-witnesses were in the wedding party walking down the aisle st this kingdom hall wedding I attended.

I went to a wedding not too long ago IN a kingdom hall with multiple 'worldly' relatives. An elder gave the talk.

Do you believe that Jehovah is using the Organization today?
by Iamallcool inany elder has never asked me that question so far but i want to be prepared to answer that question if any of them ask me that question in the future.
i hope that they will never ask me that question.
any suggestions on how to answer that question would be very much appreciated.

You could always ask them a question to which they can only give an answer that makes the org look bad, and then when they say 'I don't know', say 'neither am I telling you'. (Like Jesus did with the pharisees.) It's risky though. If you definitely can't get kicked out at this point in time, I'd just be cautious as a serpent yet innocent as a dove and say what they need to hear.

A Brother refusing to pray?
by HereIgo ini remember there was a brother in my congregation while i was in who would comment at all meetings but if asked to pray at a meeting or meeting for service he would always politely refuse.
i always found it odd, i assumed as a young bro, that a bro was kind of obligated to pray if asked.
knowing what i know now, it could have been a guilty conscience or maybe he just wanted to be lowkey.

Possible reasons:
1: Guilty Conscience (like you said)
2: Shy (kind of like you said)
3: Classified as a 'Sexual Predator' by the body of elders (such ones usually aren't allowed privileges beyond preaching per instructions from headquarters)
4: He Knows TTATT

Australian Royal Commission mentions that G. Jackson was inconsistent
by Daniel1555 init's great that the following is officially mentioned in the royal commission's report:.
when asked if the governing body members saw themselves as ‘jehovah god’s spokespeople on earth’, mr geoffrey jackson answered that it ‘would seem to be quite presumptuous to say that we are the only spokesperson that god is using’.
mr jackson’s response seems to be inconsistent with the documentary evidence before the royal commission, which shows that jehovah’s witnesses believe that the governing body is the ‘channel’ by which jehovah’s ‘will’ is communicated to them..

He said it would "seem to be" presumptuous, not that he thought it was.

If you read the bible w/out instruction, what would you think?
by TTWSYF inanyone reading [or did read] the bible without someone else telling you what it meant?.
would you be leaning towards the jws or baptists or lutherans or what?.
just asking.

I would see that they've all got it wrong in various areas, with JWs faults being end time speculation, authoritarian leadership, stifling of exercise of conscience, the degree of disfellowshipping, legalism, and first and foremost: the nonexistent hope of a paradise earth.

So, how did the 'beard article' go over yesterday at your congregation?
by neat blue dog inat mine the conductor was somewhat awkward and minimal and there were nervous chuckles from the audience.
two people, including an elder, gave reasonable comments that it's okay as long as it's not extreme styles, etc.
but then another one of the elders commented that nothing has changed and they still aren't proper locally.
